Biston Steel Complex includes three main factories for the production of steel ingots with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons, sponge iron production with a production capacity of 150,000 tons and a power plant with a capacity of 12 MW and is one of the subsidiaries of Shukri Group. This complex is built to supply raw materials (steel ingots) to the rolling mills of this group and to complete the production chain from iron ore to final steel products and prevents millions of dollars from leaving the country annually. So far, more than 14,000 billion rials have been invested in this complex. And its first phase (steel plant and steel ingot production) with an investment of 7000 billion rials was inaugurated on 11/02/98 by the President, Dr. Hassan Rouhani. It is worth mentioning that if this project is completed, 1500 people will be employed for production at the company's premises.
